Abstract

This article is devoted to studying the life and work of one of the most famous Jewish publishers of modern Ukraine: Jacob Orenstein. Fresh documentary sources and individual review publications in recent years allow a new look at the features of Orenstein’s social and political activity and his entrepreneurial potential. This allows identification of the factors that influenced the course of inter-ethnic relations in the Galician interwar period, particularly Ukrainian-Jewish and Polish-Jewish relations. The main milestones in the life of this publisher concerned immigration as well as Orenstein’s work during the Ukrainian revolution.
