Call for Papers

Change in JU Policy Starting with the 2022 volume, JU will become an English-Ukrainian bilingual journal. Russian is no longer a working or viable language of the journal.

 

CfP 2023

Judaica Ukrainica (JU) invites submissions for the 12th volume (2023). JU is devoted to the publication of peer-reviewed articles, source materials, and book reviews related to the history and culture of Jewish civilization.

The volume is dedicated to the the history of Galician Jewry in the 19th and 20th centuries (especially in Lviv) and on the Holocaust in Galicia. It also will ​include a section based on the papers presented at the UAJS international conference “Returning Galician Jews from Oblivion: 100th Anniversary of Jakub Honigsman” (March 29–30, 2023, Lviv).

Deadline for submission of manuscripts is September 1, 2023.

 

CfP 2022

Judaica Ukrainica (JU) invites submissions for the 11th volume (2022).

The volume is dedicated to the Jewish life in East-Central Europe during the first decade after the Holocaust. It also will ​include a section based on the papers presented at the UAJS international conference “Jews of East-Central Europe after the Catastrophe: Multiplicity of Experiences, 1945–1956” (March 27–28, 2023, Lviv).

Extended deadline for submission of manuscripts is September 1, 2023.

 

CfP 2021

Judaica Ukrainica (JU) invites submissions for the 10th volume (2021).

This volume is dedicated to the development of Eastern European Jewry at the border of traditional and modern worlds and to the special place of Ukrainian Jewry in the dialogue between them. In addition, it will be based on the papers presented at the UAJS international conference “'Revealing of Secrets': Hasidism and Haskalah in the Ukrainian Lands” (August 31 – September 1, 2021, Lviv).

Extended deadline for submission of manuscripts is February 15, 2022.
